Public Notice: Comprehensive Review of Standards Pertaining to Purposes and Operations, Two-Year Degree-Granting Programs, and Applicable Appendices

July 27, 2018

In August 2015, NASD began a multi-year review of its standards and guidelines. The first phase of the review focused on the standards of graduate studies in dance. The second phase focused on the standards for undergraduate studies in dance. The third phase focused on non-degree-granting studies in dance. This phase will focus on the standards pertaining to purposes and operations, two-year degree-granting studies, and applicable appendices.

The comment period extends from July 27 to October 15, 2018. We invite all representatives of member institutions, constituencies, dance professionals, deans, accreditors, students, interested parties, and the general public to engage in this review. The comments received in this comment period will influence any proposals for changes to the standards.

A hearing on the standards under review will be held on Friday, September 14 from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. at the NASD 2018 Annual Meeting in Cincinatti, Ohio. This current review will not result in a projected vote in September of 2018.
