August 15, 2016
In August 2015, NASD began a multi-year review of its standards and guidelines. The first phase of the review focused on the standards of graduate studies in dance. This second phase will focus on the standards for undergraduate studies in dance.
The first comment period for undergraduate standards extends from August 15 to October 1, 2016. We invite all representatives of member institutions, constituencies, dance professionals, deans, accreditors, students, interested parties, and the general public to engage in this review. The comments received in this comment period will influence any proposals for changes to the standards.
A hearing on the undergraduate standards will be held on Friday, September 16 from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. at the NASD 2016 Annual Meeting in Richmond, Virginia. No action to revise the undergraduate standards will be taken at the 2016 Annual Meeting.
