NASD is pleased to publish details about the Forty-Sixth Annual Meeting. NASD encourages the participation of individuals from member and non-member institutions. We look forward to welcoming you to the meeting in Cleveland.
Please join us for the Forty-Sixth Annual Meeting of the National Association of Schools of Dance. The 2026 Annual Meeting will feature multiple topics of particular importance to dance executives today including:
- Advancing the Development of Student Competency
- Exploring the Place of Pedagogy in the Undergraduate Curriculum
- Incorporating Health and Wellness in the Dance Curriculum
- Designing and Implementing Strategic Planning Initiatives:
- Marketing
- Recruiting
- Policy Development
- Developing Successful Advocacy Campaigns
- Leveraging HEADS Data
- Considering the Impact of Federal Policies on Post-Secondary Institutions
The Annual Meeting will be preceded by workshops for both new and experienced dance administrators:
- New Dance Administrators
- Managing and Leading in the Institutional Community
- Goals, Planning, and Time Management
- Financial Management and Fundraising
- External and Community Relations
- Experienced Dance Administrators
- Representatives from Degree-Granting Institutions
- Representatives from Professional Studio Schools
These pre-meetings will offer additional opportunities for attendees to gather with colleagues to explore issues of common concern and interest.
In addition to Pre-Meeting and Annual Meeting topic-focused sessions, training workshops will be offered for those preparing Self-Studies (both degree-granting and non-degree-granting institutions) and applications for Commission reviews, those interested in gaining a more in-depth understanding of the NASD standards, and for individuals interested in serving NASD as visiting evaluators.
Representatives from accredited institutional members are asked to attend the Annual Meeting to participate in the programming noted above and to vote on behalf of their institution in conducting the annual business of the Association. The NASD Pre- and Annual Meetings are open to dance administrators from both accredited and potential member institutions. Individuals aspiring to become dance administrators are welcome to attend.
The Annual Meeting registration fee is $350 for the first registrant and $325 for each additional registrant from the same institution, and includes a plated luncheon on Friday, continental breakfast on Saturday, a box lunch on Saturday, and the Annual Dinner on Saturday evening.
The room rate for attendees booked into the NASD room block at the Crowne Plaza Cleveland is $179, single/double occupancy.

Annual Meeting Registration
Online registration will open soon. Attendees may also register for Pre-Meeting Workshops and the Annual Meeting on-site at the meeting venue beginning at 8:00 am on Thursday, September 17. On-site registration will be assessed an additional fee of $25.
