NASD STANDARDS / HANDBOOK
This section brings together the various components of important information regarding NASD standards and guidelines, including access to the text of the latest edition of the NASD Handbook and, when applicable, any addenda to the Handbook; any proposed revisions to NASD standards currently open for comment; and a more convenient place to access the Basic Competency Index for undergraduate degree programs in dance housed on the Achievement and Quality Web site.

HANDBOOK AND ANY CURRENT ADDENDA

Includes current NASD standards and guidelines for accredited institutional membership for degree- and non-degree-granting institutions in dance, as well as the Association's Constitution, Bylaws, Code of Ethics, and Rules of Practice and Procedure. It incorporates revisions ratified by the NASD Membership and/or Board of Directors through September 2012.
Click here if you wish to download for reference the specific changes to the Handbook 2011-12 ratified by the Membership and Board of Directors in September 2012. These changes were incorporated into the text of the Handbook 2012-13; therefore, no addendum is required.
NOTICE: All institutions and evaluators must follow standards and guidelines reflected in the latest edition of the NASD Handbook and any addenda current at the time of application.

Undergraduate Degrees in Dance Provides a link to a resource from the Achievement and Quality: Higher Education in the Arts web site, which lists specializations for baccalaureate degrees in dance, each linked to a parallel downloadable PDF enumerating detailed competencies for that specialization. Please note: The lists of competencies are derived from NASD accreditation standards for professional and liberal arts undergraduate degrees in dance.
