Angela M. Gallo

Angela M. Gallo is Professor of Dance and Dean of the School of Visual and Performing Arts at Coker University.

Dean Gallo is the Artistic Director of Sapphire Moon Dance Company. Her choreography has been performed nationally and internationally at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Fringe Festival of Independent Dance Artists, Piccolo Spoleto, White Wave Dance Festival, Dance Now Downtown Festival, Dance Theater Workshop, Williamsburg Arts Nexus (WAX), Atrium Theatre, Alabama Dance Festival, Charlotte Dance Festival, Dimensions Dance Festival, Sumter Opera House, Patriot Hall, CMFA Artspace, the Koger Center and others. She has been guest choreographer for Columbia Classical Ballet, Vibrations Dance Company, and Converse College, Columbia City Ballet and Dance Now! Miami.

As a dancer, she has performed in the works of Jose Limón, Doug Varone, Dan Wagoner and Christian Von Howard. She has performed with AmDAT: Dance Art Technology (NY), Eisenhower Dance Ensemble (MI), the Power Company (SC) and worked on smaller projects with Ballet Preljocaj (France) and Anou Skan (France).

Dean Gallo has been a guest instructor for organizations including the Joffrey Ballet Summer Intensive, University of South Carolina Summer Intensive, South Carolina Dance and Improvisation Festival, Alabama Dance Festival, Peridance, Spelman College, Converse College, the National High School Dance Festival, American College Dance Association, and South Carolina Dance Association.

Dean Gallo serves NASD as a visiting evaluator.

Dean Gallo holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Dance from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Central Connecticut State University. She is a Certified Pilates Instructor.
