Jodi Youmans-Jones

Jodi Youmans-Jones has been a faculty member of the Department of Theatre and Dance at Casper College in Wyoming since 1996. She currently serves as the Program Director for Dance. She teaches all levels of Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, and Musical Theatre as well as History, Improvisation, and Composition. She is a fully tenured professor at Casper College and has been awarded both the Bailey Teaching Excellence Award and the Rosenthal Outstanding Teaching Award.

Professor Youmans-Jones has choreographed original contemporary ballets including Grapes of Wrath, Thumbelina, Social Motion-Events affecting us from 1960-2010, Charlotte’s Web-An Adaptation, and A Merry Mixed-up Christmas. She has choreographed over 50 productions on the musical theatre stage including Chicago, West Side Story, Chorus Line, Evita, Singin’ in the Rain, Legally Blonde, Oklahoma, Footloose, Mary Poppins and most recently Mamma Mia, and has created 2 contemporary dance concerts in the air working with the ZFX Flying company. She has worked and performed with many artists across the country and was a member of the Cleo Parker Robinson ensemble in Colorado, as well as performing professionally with Colorado Time Steps and the Kema Jamal Concert Company.

Professor Youmans-Jones serves NASD as a visiting evaluator.

She holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Dance Performance and Choreography from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and Dance from the University of Wyoming.
